2 Zones, Lots of Training Lots of Fun, Some Awesome New Friends

Hi, OK wow, I’ve gotta tell you. This week has been the longest shortest craziest week of my mission. Life just goes by too fast.
May 20 - Papa’s birthday. Happy Birthday Papa, it was so much fun talking with you! Normal pday with transfer journal signing. I also said goodbye to a bunch of members.
May 21 - We cleaned and packed and helped others clean and pack too and get settled and moved in. I moved about 300 feet up the road into my new apt in the Murrieta Springs YSA. Sister Moore, my new companion, is most recently from Colorado.
We went to talk to Titus for a little while. We aren’t sure of his interest level but he was willing to chat.

May 22 - We had zone greet. We went to Murrieta first and played a get to know you game and introduced their new zone theme, get yoked. Then we went to Temecula’s zone and did their zone greet. They chose the theme of send it. Meaning be brave and speak up and do your best. We as Sister training leaders are over both the Temecula and Murrieta zones. We have several sets of sisters. It is a blast to know the sisters in both zones.
May 23 - Thursday. We had a zone breakfast for the Murrieta zone at the Stake President’s house. We helped Lessi with her home. We practiced singing with our sisters because we are singing again for Zone Conference. We had a lesson with Michael. Michael is really cool, he is on date for July 20th. We are trying to move it up to June because he is so ready. He knows the church is true. He loves it so much. He even comes early to help set up chairs for institute. Institute was fantastic. We talked a lot about Come Follow Me.

May 24 - Friday, we drove to Vista for our new leadership MLC meeting. I am amazed how much President loves us and how much inspiration goes into the plans for the mission. It was really cool to be a part of. It was also President Thomas’s last MLC, so I was able to be there  for it so it was awesome.

We drove home and had a lesson with Kayla. Kayla is elect with a capital “E”. She is the girlfriend of one of the members in our ward and she has been surrounded by members her entire life. She was taking lessons before, just out of curiosity and now she feels she needs to make a decision about it. She wants to start completely fresh and learn with an open mind and with an open heart and with real intent. We are super excited. We talked about faith and introduced a trifold with her helping her come to Christ.

May 25 - Saturday - Frisbee with everyone for exercise. We went to a zone breakfast for Temecula at President Ham’s house. Then we went on exchanges. I was Sister Stoddard in her area. We went out to work and saw a lot of miracles. We were able to drop six copies of the Book of Mormon and the other sisters were able to find one new person. We met a returning member, Lisa, who hasn’t been to church in 15 years. We knocked on her door. One of her best friends grandchild actually drowned last week in a pool so she has been really distraught and sad. We were able to read with her Alma 40:11-14. It brought a lot of peace to her. We gave her a copy of the Book of Mormon and told  her we would pray for her and her friend. She said, wow, I really need to get back into the church, so, it was really good. We set up times we could come back and read the Book of Mormon with her. It was cool to run into her at that time of need. We also gave her a plan of salvation pamphlet to read and give to her friend.

We tracted and worked hard. Super fun to be with Sister Stoddard again as my companion for a day. It was cool to see how much we have both grown. Shout out to Sister Stoddard, I love you.
May 26 - Sunday - We went to our missionary correlation meeting and then to church. It was my first Sunday in the YSA ward and I felt all the love. Kayla actually came to church, so did Jessica another person we are teaching, and so did Michelle.

I am going to tell you about Michelle, she is amazing. She is dating a member of the ward and has for about 2 months. He has been slowly introducing the gospel to her. He took her to the Newport Temple grounds and the San Diego Temple grounds and to Deseret Book  where she bought herself a quad. She also went on a train to a temple open house. She came to church and she is amazing. We had a little extra time from our RS lesson. The president got up and asked if some sisters wanted to bare their testimony. Michelle, not a member remember, jumped right up and bore her testimony that she had a church “click”. It clicked with her how much the church is so amazing and how much love she felt from everybody and that it is her second time coming to church and she absolutely loves it. It was so much fun!

Cory also came to church, so we had four people there. We left church after meeting a lot of people and practiced our song and went to dinner at the Snell’s, the bishop. We have a companionship goal to read the Book of Mormon together so we finished our day with that.

It was a really great week, crazy. I feel like I haven’t stopped running since transfers. I love my mission and doing what I do and I love my work. I love to experience Christlike love for everyone. I know Jesus Christ is our savior and our redeemer and our light. I am grateful for the opportunity I have to be around the sisters more and get to know them better and feel of their love and to get to know them as missionaries and help them improve. It has been really fun.  I get more opportunities to see more miracles.

I love you so much and am grateful for all of you and all that you do. I am praying for all of you. I hope you know the church is true.

Love you, love you, bye!
