Bye Sister Cam Richey!

We went to our last district meeting for this transfer. What? This transfer is already over???

Happy 20th birthday, Tess! Love you so much.

Our morning routine is always the same. We wake up and run to the ocean and embrace the world. We run home and do personal and companion studies. One morning the sunrise was pink and the ocean was pink. I love this beautiful world that God created.

A member, Anna, who is an awesome return missionary, took us to a fantastic taco shop, Lucha Libre. She brought her little sister and a couple of non member friends so we got to do some teaching at lunch.

We had two new member lessons with Shay because she is leaving. She is being deployed. We will miss her. Oh we’re so sad. She is awesome. Sister Richey, who goes home tomorrow (cry face) gave me some of her Happi pins so we spent all day one day passing out happi pins, pass along cards and Books of Mormon. I was just filled with joy! Why not? I am a missionary sharing His joy, the joy of the gospel.

We also taught new member lessons with Aubree and Rosanna. They are both awesome! The point of all the new member lessons are so I can get to know people in the ward because I am a newbie.

We did a lot of follow up with PIs and did a lot of contacting. Woot woot for the Lord’s work.  I found a scripture in D&C 82:3. Love it! It says where much is given much is required. That makes perfect sense. Put in your best, you get much more than you give.

We went to camp Pendleton and met some marines who helped us out. They are awesome. They look big and tough but are super nice and love to talk to people especially non military people. We returned another. We did a service project there on another day. We went through a bunch of canned foods with a bunch of people from our zone. We saw so many mice, it was disgusting. But after the service project we took pictures on tanks and trucks and trains.

Sister Radford took us to Pacific Coast Grill at Cardiff. It was amazing food with amazing people and right on the beach. There are windows on all the walls. So great. President is having us start to do booths on the college campuses so they took us to explain what they have done and what worked for them. We took advantage of the fact we were in Cardiff and went to VG Donuts woot woot! I got an apple fritter for Dad and a maple bar for Hannah.

We are kind of struggling to find people for us to teach. We find a lot for others so that’s ok.

Here is our new song, “I will walk five hundred miles and I will five hundred more. Just to be the missionary that walks a thousand miles to fall down at your door.” We completely reached the mile limit on our car so we had to walk everywhere. We contacted on the way there and on the way back.

We got a referral! Her name is Vanessa. She has a friend who is a member and wants to take the lessons so we are hoping we will be able to pick her up as an investigator. Just love it, just love being a missionary.

We talked to a new guy named Austin. He really wants to believe. He loves mormons for their wholesomeness and morals and all we do to help but he does not believe in God. We shared scriptures with him and Heavenly Father knows his son Austin. He wants to meet more members so we invited him to come to family night and church on Sunday. He said he would. Pray for Austin.

We are doing a new thing to get our members more involved in missionary work. We are taking a few minutes out of the beginning of each lesson to learn and practice how to be member missionaries. You don’t have to have a tag to be a missionary. It is a commandment to share this gospel with our brothers and sisters in this world.

I am so redundant, I just keep talking about joy. But that is what this is, that is life is for - men are that they might have joy, right? A new song I studied that I love talks about joy and being a missionary.

I saw a mighty angel fly;
To earth he bent his way,
A message bearing from on high
To cheer the sons of day.
Truth is the message which he bears,
The gospel’s joyful sound,
To calm our doubts, to chase our fears,
And make our joys abound.

He cries, and with a mighty voice;
Ye nations lend an ear,
And isles and continents rejoice:
The great Redeemer’s near!
He cries; let ev’ry ear attend,
And thrones and empires all!
Fear God, and make the Lord your friend,
The King, the Lord of all!

Fear God, who made the water pure,
The heavens, sea, and land.
His judgment will be swift and sure;
The day is nigh at hand.
Then, all ye people, worship God;
Give glory to his name!
To spread these tidings far abroad
The holy angel came.

We are so excited for general conference and Easter and April Fools day all in one! Heavenly Father has great things in store for us this weekend. All he asks us is to come to Him with a broken heart and a contrite spirit and repent. He just loves us so much.

I love you all so much. I am grateful to know all of you. You’re awesome. Have a great great week!
