Happy New Year

Hello everybody! Happy New Year and Merry Christmas to all those I wasn’t able to talk to. I hope it was a fantastic one because I absolutely loved it. I love you all.

Last Monday, Christmas Eve was my 11 Month mark as a Sister. That is crazy. I cannot believe it has been 11 months since I walked into the MTC and started this amazing experience. I love it so much. We had a good p-day Christmas Eve. It was super fun. We did white elephants as a zone, which was a blast. I got socks and candy and fun stuff like that. It was a blast and a half. Then we went to the Baker’s. They have a Christmas Eve party. We participated in their nativity. They just put baby Jesus in a manger with a star and then they just sing. The Baker’s have amazing voices and it was so beautiful. We got to meet all of her family. She has a bunch of less active members so it was fun. We then went to the Rebar’s to say hi because she wanted us to come meet her mom. Then we walked home. It was a really good day.

Dec 25th Christmas, we woke up and got ready and opened presents from members and other missionaries and that our families sent us. Thank you to the Birchall’s for the dress and the treats. You guys are amazing I loved it and I love that dress. Thanks so much! Thank you to all of you who sent me emails and packages and letters. I felt extra blessed that day so thank you, thank you!

We went to a senior living center and carolled to people who are bedridden. It was so fun. We were able to go in and to chat with them and sing them a couple of songs. It wasn’t the usual funny spunky Christmas caroling. We sang mostly hymns. A lot of them cried and mouthed the words along with us. It was just a very special experience that I loved so much.

WE then went to the Barnson’s house where they gave us a whole bunch of presents. They are so amazing. I love this ward, they took great care of us. Then we got to call home. Fam, it was so fun talking to you. It was so fun to meet Jane and to see Jake home. It was just so fun. You guys are awesome.

Then, after calling home we had dinner with the Barnson’s and the Hess family and then played catch phrase. It reminded me of sitting in a trailer during a Dalley reunion and playing catch phrase with Jantzen, Britton and Josh Dalley and Sadee and Jake forever ago.

We went to District Council. It was fun but we learned a lot so it was productive. We had a lesson on charity and then we played missionary jeopardy.

Wednesday we started area book weekly planning. We are doing it a little early because we get the sense that  I might be leaving soon. Then we went to Julie and Austin’s and helped rake their leaves and read the Book of Mormon with them. After that we went and worked and tracted. A lot of people are willing to talk to us, but not many are willing to listen to what we gotta say :)

Thursday, Dec 27, Happy Birthday Jacob! I love you so much. 22! I cannot even believe it! Love you, brother, love you so much. You are my greatest example.

We went to the church and discussed  things for our district meeting. I started to write my talk. We delivered brownies to Hermana McCrae because it was her birthday.

Friday, Dec 28th We did exercise, studies and then went to work. We knocked doors and did our finding time. We had a district dinner and study. We have had a couple of issues in the mission so we decided to read together Alma 5 where he asks a lot of questions about our conversion. We answered each of those questions for ourselves. I invite each of you to do this. If you want a good study, identify the questions and answer them and if the answers aren’t what they should be, then change.

Saturday we worked and I had to write my talk. We went around talking to people and knocking doors cuz that is what we do.

Sunday- I finished writing my talk. It was the first talk I have given as a missionary which is great but it is exactly a year since I gave my farewell talk. It was a very interesting experience, all writing my talk, and even while I was up there, I felt I was constantly being pushed and pulled by the spirit. It was really interesting to be led by the spirit that way. I also led the music for the whole meeting. Thanks Mrs. Jolley for teaching me how. She told me I would use it someday.

I spoke about Jesus Christ and how my relationship has changed with him over this year. It was a really cool reflection and study process. It was not necessarily a study of doctrine, it was a study of myself and how ai have changed and what I have done to change and what I did to bring that change and to continue and strengthen my relationship with Jesus Christ. My testimony has grown in the Savior. He has become so much more real to me. He is no longer a picture on my wall. He lives, he is my Savior and He loves me and each of you. It was humbling to be able to speak about it to everybody else.

I love you all so much. Thank you for everything that you do. I am so blessed to have each of you in my life.
Lpve you, love you, bye!
